After talking with one of our editors about this year’s scripted pandering to voter blocs, I had an idea: what would happen if we compared word clouds of the two most important speeches from each of the RNC and DNC? 

Here’s what I did: I retrieved the full-text of each convention speech of Obama, Biden, Romney, and Ryan, and used an online program called Tagxedo to create a word cloud. I combined each party’s speeches together, so the results are a word cloud of each pair’s speeches together. After I was completed, I decided to do the same thing for Michelle Obama and Ann Romney. Here are the results:
